annual antique show...

we spent the afternoon at one of my favourite places to go to in the spring...
the christie antique show.

so. much. fun!!
well, that's if you like antiquing.

lately i've been seeing the difference in trends from year to year.
ok, so last year we couldn't go, but from the year before the trends were things like:
~church related items...pews, baptism fonts, windows etc
~ enamel ware
~ vintage boots...riding boots, army boots
~ large metal stars...you know, the kind you would put on your house
~vintage metal lunch boxes
~old type set letters for printing presses

and every year you see the same things like:

~vintage glass ware:

~vintage clothing & bags:

~bottles:

rugs & blankets/quilts:

boxes/crates & trunks:

however, the big trend this year i noticed was a lot of these:

~the duck dynasty!
almost every vendor had ducks...
~ vintage suitcases...
love these

~vintage medical jars/cabinets/ equipment...

~ helmets...

~baskets...

wicker, metal & for the dead ~so very macabre...

~metal signs/licence plates...
ooohh, cute guy {he's already mine though!!}

~forms...

~some crazy, some cool & a lot of ugly lighting...

~and as always, a lot of chairs
one chair even had a tuckered out pair of legs taking a rest on it...

~golf clubs & lawn games...

and many creepy/funny faces...

so you're probably wondering what we came home with this year~huh?
well, this is what i reeeeeaaally wanted, BUT i wasn't willing to pay the $295 asking price!
i wasn't even going to bother to get the price down b/c it still would have been too high!

sigh~
must. keep. looking.
the colour is right, but i would like a pair of them!

moving on.

so, we bought an 'O'.
an 'O'??

yep!

the hubs always rolls his eyes at me & says 'what ever' cuz he can't see my vision in how i want to use this.

i just tell him to trust me...it'll look great when i'm done with it :)!

i may play around with how it will be used, but my original thought was to hang it within my photo gallery wall in the basement.
this display needs to desperately be reconfigured anyway, and the walls need a fresh coat of paint too!!

so, what would your ideas be for my 'O'??

the hubs did suggest that he should rewire it so it lights up again, but i'm good with it like it is for now.

it was a great day...weather was perfect.
it's our 'date' day every spring!
