the backsplash...

when wayne renovated the basement & put the bathroom in four years ago, we didn't quite finish...

yes, all the necessities are there, but it's needed a back~splash.

a few weeks ago when i was in costco, i spied boxes of tile for a great price!
i bought one box to show wayne...i got the 'green light' to go ahead & by 2 more boxes to finish the job~wu hoo!!!

each box contained 4 sheets of the stone, marble & glass tiles...love!
here's a closer look:

fyi...this is the girls bathroom & they tend to ding up the walls around the counter area just with all the small appliances they use!!

first we laid out the tiles, dry fit them & cut out the plug openings and around the upper & lower counter levels...

next step...
mastic (wall tile glue) & up they go!
i glue & place and wayne does the cutting with the tile saw

once the glue has dried, it's time for the grout...

and...
we're done!

~i think we may have to lower the mirror a bit ~ it's too high :(...but then again, i don't use this bathroom & the three girls are all taller than me, so maybe it's fine ;)
{we just have to replace the light bulb :)}
