i have been looking for that one piece of furniture for the family room downstairs, since...forever.
for this space i wanted a more modern/retro feel.
in my head i envisioned a sleek credenza type of piece, but nothing new looking.
i went hunting on kijiji & found the perfect thing.
the hubby on the other hand thinks it's not so perfect.
i quote..."it looks like it's from the seventies"(with disgust in his voice)
i reply.."that's what i'm going for!!"(excitement in my voice)
i'm hoping to achieve the 'straight-off-the-set-of 'the brady bunch'-look!
so just yesterday, we head up to TO to pick up my 'fab find'!!
i got this for a steal....i kid you not!
wayne thinks no one would want to steal this...it's old lady furniture!(it actually is~lol!)
who cares....i love it!
the sweet woman we bought this from,was cleaning out her mother's small house b/c she had just moved to a seniors home.
they don't make furniture like this anymore....it's solid & heavy.
it's a perfect fit for the space.....home to board games & the kids cd/radio.
pair this with some more contemporary items & presto....instant update!
wayne'll get used to it, i'm sure of it!
cool! and the mirror is PERFECT. wayne...yep, he'll get used to it ;)
