the dog

i want to introduce you to the newest member of the family ;)!
wayne and i finally caved to our children's pleas(who does that?-be honest!!)
we got a puppy this past fall.
she's a little boxer who we've named Mika
when a friend asked one of the kids, "so, how long have you waited to get a dog"?, her reply was "my whole life"!! (she's only 14, and she makes it sound like she's 30!!)
sooo, we bring this little gal home, weighing only 4lbs-aaawwww!




this little pup, and i mean little had a slew of problems when we got her!
once we got her healthy, we had to keep her warm(the vet said that her body temp was too low) so i got the itch to sew her some little coats!!
i know, i know, it's like i had a baby again with all this sewing going on!
any-who, moving on,
she has us all wrapped around her little paw.
even wayne, who will NOT admit it, has a soft spot for her!
"it's just a dog" he keeps telling everyone.
ya, she is, but she's also our little pet.




so now mika's getting bigger and she tries to take over the place.
well, i've got news for her-NOT happening!!
she will park herself anywhere, her favourite spot is in the middle of the dirty laundry pile- gross.
if danielle is not quick enough, mika will make herself comfy in dan's beanbag chair.



the kids have really stepped up to the challange of being pet owners.
they all taking their responsibilities seriously and doing their part.
this little dog, soon to be big dog, fits into our family quite nicely.
we've just begun 'puppy class', but that is another post, for another day!
